Meet The Crew

EXPCast : A Bold Beginning Into Something New.

In a dimly lit basement over a couple (or a few…….ok a lot) of beers in early 2017, two dudes Dan and Stojan thought how cool and easy it’d be to start a podcast that centers around talking about anything and everything video games. Little did they know how NOT easy it was, and hence Pat entered the fold a few months later! And then we got bored with each other a few years later, so we invited Josh into the squad!

Fast forward to now, and we keep growing and keep climbing! Out podcast aims to deliver a causal conversation about everything video games; like discussions and impressions on what we’re playing, news topics, thoughts and opinions on industry buzz, and also delving into some great “side quests,” group discussions about crazy or not so crazy video game-themed topics (What video games would you take on a deserted island, what’s your biggest story shocker, favorite music, etc.).

Our mission statement is to deliver fresh and interesting conversation while keeping it VERY light-hearted. We don’t take things to heart and we’re always committed to having a good time and not getting worked up. We aim to keep an open mind, an open door, and a positive outlook, no matter what EA does next!

We hope you listen and come back every week! We publish episodes every Monday morning, and you can not only listen to us here on our website, but you can subscribe and follow us on YouTube, Spotify, iTunes, iHeart Radio, Google Play Music, Podcast Republic, and most any other podcast directories!

FAVORITE GENRE(s) : Action RPGs, Open World Games
WHY DO I PLAY GAMES? : “Gaming is a better storytelling medium than anything that has ever come before. Anyone can get engrossed in watching a movie, or reading a book, or seeing a play, but video games give you the chance to truly EXPERIENCE it and almost feel it. I am a sucker for great stories and narratives in video games. I also enjoy the hell out of my PSVR.”

danNAME : Daniel Labinski

FAVORITE DRINK/BEER : Bushmills on the rocks, Lakefront Fixed Gear
FAVORITE GENRE : Weird games no one’s ever heard of
WHY DO I PLAY GAMES? : I game because it’s fun. It’s fun to break away from the toils of adulthood. It’s fun to envelop myself in a story and/or world that I can interact with and pursue a goal in. And/or fuck shit up without repercussions. It’s even more fun to share those experiences with friends and family as long as no one throws a punch…Mom…

NAME : Patrick Kleinpat

CURRENTLY OWNS : PS4, PS2, PSX, XBOX360, Switch, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, NEW 3DS, GBA SP, GB Color, Game Boy, Game Gear, Dreamcast, Genesis and Stoy’s WiiU…
FAVORITE GAME : Lufia 2:  Rise of the Sinistrals
FAVORITE DRINK : Sprecher’s Cream Soda.
FAVORITE GENRE : RPG’s or anything with a great story
WHY DO I PLAY GAMES? : When I grew up, video games served as an escape from a tough childhood.  I enjoyed playing RPGs and Mega Man games and experiencing the different worlds that they envelop.  I still play to experience new worlds, but I also enjoy the feeling of accomplishment that gaming can bring when you beat something particularly hard or get an achievement that not many people have gotten yet.

josh barnNAME : Josh Barnickel

FIRST SYSTEM : My Cousin’s Hand-me-down NES
CURRENTLY OWNS : Damn near every retro system from the Neo Geo to the wonder swan. Current gen: PS4 Pro

FAVORITE DRINK : Whiskey old fashioned sour
WHY DO I PLAY GAMES? : Video games are special. They are an artistic medium that blends almost every aspect of known art and design but adds a layer of interactivity to that, making them wholly something more than the sum of their parts. I play games for enjoyment, the thrill. But also to learn from them. They have so much to teach us and even the games that appear to be furthest from fine art, are still better at bringing people together and get people talking more than some literature, films or art pieces ever could.

  1. I met one of the hosts while delivering a dead body to them. Amidst harvesting details he mentioned the podcast, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

I am so glad to see you guys put out episodes again. I had the lucky misfortune of leaving my wife and getting my own apartment a week before the ‘Safe at Home’ order.
I traded a socially repressed marriage for a social quarantine, and podcasts like yours are helping us all get through it.

Thank you for what you do.
